![]() Example: You're trying to advance with tank+FSV but then AGM plane appears (Maybe of a different player than the one you're confronting on the ground), you have a direct choice, you stay in the open and risk your tank, but perhaps equalize or win the opposing ground duel against the enemies superheavy (Unless breaking LOS or Superior Stabilizer are to your advantage). When the dynamic of Tank+ADN+Arty+Plane Macro take effect you'll often have to shift between too many different assets to reliable micro units. ![]() This macro expense puts at risk much more valuable assets than often the tanks/forces you're ment to move through smoke. ![]() Setting smoke screens requires you to zoom in and precisely mark the target area, which prevents you from paying attention to things like counter battery, ADN, potential enemy LOS on AA, and the Air Dynamic. In the meantime you must micro/que orders for 10sec/MLRS arty, adjust waypoints for ASF, move recon/FSVs/Infantry/ADN around and pay attention to enemy movements. The smoke needs to be strategically distributed to provide you ample cover sometimes you can que up a shift order from a pair and you'll either end up with open patches, or areas too thick with the firing cycle lasting longer than the immediately needed cover. Average smoke screen delay is about 10 seconds depending on smoke calibre, and distance to target area, pray you don't need to reposition the mortar and await its travel time. For this type of static target a simple round from a howitzer is sufficient to abrupt LOS. Its more complicated than simply putting a few puffs of LOS blockage infront of some building with ATGMs. This is a fan-run community, we are not affiliated with the creators of the Wargame Series.
